A Date with johnny that sent me to the moon

when my friend sent me the article for creative date ideas, I was confused as to what I was comfortable with and what is it that he would enjoy but the very purpose of creativity was to think outside the comfort zone. Reading the article had made me too tired to plan so as usual, we went to the nearest Ambiance mall for spending the hot afternoons. That is when we chanced upon a cheery  red and yellow colored diner named Johnny Rockets. Nothing great in terms of ambiance, but the food blows your mind. We ordered an original burger (Crispy shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, chopped onion, crinkle cut pickle, mustard and mayo) and a strawberry shake . The portions were huge and It was something two people had to share to finish .It was Hearty and yummy diner food with a very friendly service.

The Original

Food – The bun was moist like a soft pillow encasing a melange of lettuce, onions  and gherkins finely chopped then topped with tomatoes and a very succulent grilled chicken breast and herein below this lies mustard sauce, pickles and relish (aaah yummy tangy relish!!). Pure explosion of flavors in the mouth.

Shredded lettuce ,tomato, onion relish pickle , a perfectly encasing a perfectly cooked chicken breast

Coming to the heavenly shake, a thick mixture of strawberry chunks, and syrup with vanilla ice cream blended to perfection and topped with vanilla scoop. They also serve the tumbler of the remaining shake which could not be accommodated in the serving glass. (made me feel richer for a second!! :P)

Smooth as silk pink strawberry heaven

This unplanned date turned out to be super creative and delicious. This simple, but gigantic meal costed us INR 850 after taxes and a very heavy tummy all night long. I would love to go here again, specially with a kid so that I can order from the special kid’s menu. Guys, let me know if you have a kid, I can borrow? 🙂
